Truck Accident Caused By Improper Marking Of Construction Zone
Settlement: $7.35 Million | Yolo County Superior Court | Blagg v. State of California, et al.
The claim was made that the defendants had failed to properly notify oncoming traffic of construction and did not take the necessary precautions to protect the motoring public as they approached the construction. Due to that failure, accidents began to happen that ultimately resulted in 18-wheelers striking Mr. Blagg’s vehicle and killing him. This was a complex piece of litigation with several defendants pointing at one another and taking the position that they were not responsible for the death of this 32-year-old husband and father. The matter resolved during the course of jury selection. Pretrial offer was $4 million.
