Settlement: 2 Million | Napa County Superior Court | Rodman v. State of California
Plaintiff contended that the subject intersection was dangerous in that due to the speed of the traveling vehicle, it forced a game of “chicken” between left-turning vehicles and oncoming vehicles. Plaintiff lost his right lower ankle and foot in the accident. He also suffered neck and back injuries, but his predominant injury was with the right lower extremity. He was a millwright who suffered a significant disability as a result of the injury, but he did return to work with a prosthetic limb. The matter settled in mediation just prior to trial.
